Are pets welcome? Dogs are allowed but please be aware the garden area is small. Nearby Alton Water is perfect for walkies, runs and even the odd splash!

Is smoking permitted inside the cottage? No.

Is the cottage accessible for people with mobility challenges? There are two steps into the cottage, but inside is all on one level. We are happy to lend a mobility scooter to anyone wishing to explore the locality.

Are there food shops nearby? The village has 3 Farm Shops and Jimmy’s Farm (Jamie Oliver’s mate as seen on TV) www.essexpigcompany.com is in the next village. With the help of Rookery Farm we provide a complimentary breakfast hamper to start you off. Tesco Extra is 5 miles away and if you’re driving from London on the A12 then stop at The Food Company for some treats!

Do you supply towels and bed linen? Yes, this is included in your booking price.We also leave you some very special handmade soap, bath salts and shower gel from The Soap Opera, Norfolk.
